Peach Fest Pedal-Paddle-Pedal

A fun three-stage race of mountain biking, flat-water paddling and road riding.
You can enter individually or with a 2-3 person team.
 
 
Stage 1: 18-mile pedal. The first leg of the race is a mountain bike lap behind Horse Mountain following a 2/3 doubletrack and 1/3 singletrack loop. This lap ends at the new Palisade Rim Trailhead at Hwy 6 and North River Road.

Stage 2: 4-mile paddle. Racers paddle, row, board, swim, or sail any one-person human-powered craft down the Colorado River 4 miles to Harky's Launch at Riverbend Park. There are a few waves but no rapids.

Stage 3: 22-mile pedal. The road ride follows the Fruit & Wine Byway out to Z's Orchard and back. This route travels through scenic vineyards and orchards of East Orchard Mesa and Palisade. Any type of single person bike is allowed and the entire course is on paved roads. Road bikes are recommended for serious racers. 

Categories: Serious and not so serious racers; individual and two or three person teams allowed.

Awards, BBQ & Beer: Awards ceremony and BBQ follows the race at 12:30, and race timers will stop recording times then. Racers not in by that time can still eat but will not have their times recorded. Most racers will finish the course in 3-4 hours. Awards will be given to the fastest racer in each category and the funnest peach-themed outfit, so dress accordingy. DT Swiss is generously donating 1 set of RR1600 road wheels, 1 set of 29er M1800 MTB wheels, and 1 set of 29er XM490 rims for the winners. Other prizes include Colorado Native Beer swag, wine from Grande River Vineyards and Talon Winery, lift tickets from Powderhorn Mountain Resort and peaches from Clark Family Orchard.

Logistics: Racers must drop off their water craft prior to the race at the guarded boat exchange area by the Palisade Rim Trailhead. Participants must also drop off their road bike at the guarded bike exchange area at the start/ end of the race in Riverbend Park. We will shuttle riders and bikes from the start of the paddle race to Riverbend Park.
