The Palisade area hosts 80 percent of Colorado’s premium winegrape vineyards. Classic whites such as Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc; and reds including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Lemberger flourish in the Palisade environment, or "terroir." Some wineries also take advantage of the excellent local fruit and make wine from Palisade peaches, apricots, cherries, apples, pears and plums. Plus find mead, wine made from honey.

More than 20 wineries are nestled in the Palisade area and East Orchard Mesa. Tour the vineyards and wineries and discover why Colorado wines are winning awards from coast to coast.
